The Organ
The St Stephen's organ is the first Neo-Baroque organ in Portland. The organ was built by the Gress Miles Company of Princeton, New Jersey and installed in 1963. The organ is dedicated to the Fifth Bishop of Oregon, Benjamin Dunlop Dagwell, first Bishop to be consecrated in Oregon.

St. Stephen's organ is characteristic of the Neo-Baroque style in that the pipework, manuals, and pedalboard are housed in a free-standing case, in a very traditional-appearing layout. This instrument was one of the few by American builders to be featured in Joseph Blanton's 1965 book "The Revival of the Organ Case." The organ has a bright principal chorus and colorful flute and reed stops, with each stop designed to have its own independent character.
